Press Release: The Jewelry Co., a division of SRK Exports, deployed its team members on November 22, with brooms in hand, to support the "Swacch Bharat Abhiyan," (Clean India) with the intention of inspiring everyone to take part in the cleanliness initiative created by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
More than 180 team members from The Jewelry Co. signed up for the cleanliness pledge and participated in the cleanliness drive with enthusiasm to ensure that not only their desks, drawers, cupboards and storage areas became spick-and-span, but also that the corridors, floors, basement, signage, parking area and the block in SPEEZ were cleaned.
The Jewelry Co.'s motive behind supporting this initiative was not to just remove dust, but to instill good hygiene for all citizens. The workplace was chosen for the project because most of us spend 50 percent of our active hours in that space and taking ownership of its cleanliness was at the core of Modi's mission. Clean India is not a one time movement, but a continuous and long term process that must be instilled in the coming generation.
The cleanliness drive also holds a special meaning and historical importance for The Jewelry Co. because our group founder, Govind Dholakia, has been relentlessly spreading awareness about resource conservation and the importance of keeping the environment clean.
