RAPAPORT... Luk Fook Holdings Ltd. reported that its same-store sales across all operations fell 21 percent year on year during the Chinese New Year Festival. Comparable-store sales for gold dropped 29 percent, while gem-set jewelry sales declined 10 percent. The company did not provide hard totals. However, in Mainland China, same-store sales rose 15 percent with comparable-store sales of gold up 3 percent and sales of gem-set jewelry up 65 percent. The figures for Hong Kong and Macau were bleak, however, as overall comparable-store sales fell 25 percent, with gold down 34 percent and gem-set jewelry reduced by 14 percent.
