RAPAPORT... The Japan Jewelery Fair 2014, organized by UBM Japan Ltd. and the Japan Jewelery Association will be held August 26 to 28 at the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center, East Halls 2 and 3. Show organizers anticipate more than 420 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions will be in attendance and attract more than 15,000 jewelry attendees.
During the show, the Japan Jewelery Designers Association will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a members' pavilion for the first time. Japanese pearls are always one of the hot items for buyers, according to UBM, and this year re-styled jewelry has become a thriving business trend in Japan. Jewelry companies are repurchasing pieces from consumers and remodeling or remaking them for resale, so organizers created a Re-Styled Jewelery Pavilion for buyers to source high-quality jewelry. Other highlights of the show include The Bridal Jewelry Zone, a showcase of exclusive collections, and the exhibit's annual jewelry design award, created to celebrate the very best in jewelry designs and designers.
