RAPAPORT... The Diamond Empowerment Fund (D.E.F.) will celebrate its Diamonds In The Sky Gala on May 28 in Las Vegas and present Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India with a Global Empowerment Award. The gala is also designed to celebrate the positive global impact from the diamond industry.
D.E.F.'s president, Phyllis Bergman, said, “We are thrilled to honor India at Diamonds in the Sky Las Vegas 2015.” At the event in 2014, D.E.F. honored President Ian Khama of Botswana with the Global Empowerment Award and raised more than $1 million to benefit D.E.F.’s "Diamonds Do Good" campaign, which supports education initiatives from diamond communities.
This year's premier presenting sponsors include Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group, De Beers, Rio Tinto and Signet Jewelers.
