ALROSA Explores Further Opportunities in Angola

RAPAPORT... ALROSA's president Andrey Zharkov visited Angola last week to discuss further cooperation in developing new diamond projects in the African nation.
The Tchiuzo and Luaxe exploration projects were highlighted as promising deposits that could be brought into production within the next 10 years, if sufficient reserves are proven by further drilling.
Zharkov met with Manuel Vicente, Angola's vice president, officials from relevant government ministries and local businessmen during the trip. Other issues discussed included ways to improve the performance of Angola's largest diamond mine, Catoca, in which ALROSA owns a stake, and the implementation of corporate social responsibility projects. |
