Press Release: The Royal Decree (RD) on the Transport of Valuables, which entered into practice on  September 1, 2014, has been adjusted. As a result, the unlimited and unlicensed personal transport of diamonds by diamantaires, staff, diamond cutters and diamond dealers is again possible.

Intensive discussions between the cabinet of the Minister of Home Affairs, the FPS Home Affairs Private Security Regulation Office and the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) resulted in the adjustment of the RD on the Transport of Valuables.

Consequently, in the event of personal transport of consignments greater than EUR 150,000, it is no longer required to employ a company that is certified and licensed for the transport of valuables.

The AWDC always advises the trade to be security aware, to avoid fixed routines and to exercise extreme caution during the transport of valuable consignments.
