Press Release: International Gemological Institute DMCC (IGI), the world's largest independent gem certification and appraisal institute for diamonds, colored gemstones and jewelry, will host an on-site diamond laboratory for the first time in Dubai at Vicenzaoro, which will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from April 23 to 26. Previously held in Venice, Vicenzaoro is the ultimate destination for the jewelry community and aims to support the future of the industry by promoting social and networking opportunities, conferences, seminars, one-on-one meetings, speed networking and workshops.

At the venue, IGI will have an on-site diamond lab facility, which will provide visitors with expert real-time advice on the quality of their diamond jewelry. IGI School of Gemology will also host awareness events on diamond and gemstone testing.

According to Roland Lorie, the co-CEO of IGI Worldwide, “Vicenzaoro is the perfect event to create more awareness about the importance of diamond and gemstone testing and certification. All reputable jewelers should be able to provide their customer a third-party certificate from an independent laboratory stating the diamond's origin (natural, or treated, or man-made) and its ratings for cut, color, clarity and carat weight, along with other distinguishing characteristics. At IGI's on-site diamond lab at Vicenzaoro, visitors will receive free verbal consultation for diamonds and diamond jewelry. IGI is the official lab and education partner for the event. Every year, IGI enrolls thousands of students in its educational programs, thereby spreading knowledge about gemology and jewelry design to trade and jewelry enthusiasts alike.”

One of IGI’s seminars at Vicenzaoro will cover diamond treatments with specific focus on detection and identification. IGI will also conduct another seminar covering the most commonly encountered treatments on color stones and their key identification features.

The seminar on diamond treatments will take place on April 26 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the seminar on precious gemstones at 2:30 p.m. Both seminars run for approximately one hour and will be conducted by Rashna Doctor, the training manager for IGI School of Gemology.
