RAPAPORT... Lucapa Diamonds has recovered additional large and what it describes as “special” diamonds from its Lulo diamond project in Angola, according to a filing with the Australian Stock Exchange.

The company said it produced nine special diamonds weighing more than 10.8 carats each in the first two weeks of mining in the area.

Among the stones are four large diamonds weighing 37.28 carats, 17.15 carats, 14.69 carats and 11 carats. A pink diamond was also recovered. Lucapa said the E259 kimberlite target, located approximately 300 meters from Mining Area 8, was the possible source of these large alluvial diamonds.

The recovery follows Lucapa’s capture last month of five large diamonds more than 50 carats each from the same area.
