Lucapa Diamond Company sold $7.4 million (AUD 9.2 million) of rough diamonds at a tender of goods from its Lulo deposit in Angola, the miner said Friday.

The sale of 3,214 carats fetched an average price of $2,298 per carat, the company reported. It mainly included production from the high-value mining block 8, where Lucapa recently resumed alluvial mining following the end of the wet season, which had forced the company to focus on the lower-grade block 28.

Total proceeds from the Lulo mine for the year to date amount to $24.3 million at an average price of $1,640 per carat, Lucapa added.
