RAPAPORT... Bright Society, a new watch-and-jewelry website,
launched earlier this month, providing a platform on which small, independent jewelers
across the US can sell items directly to consumers.
The site aggregates jewelers’ collections, enabling customers
to find a broad range of fine jewelry and luxury watches in one place, the
company said. Bright Society is being developed by White Pine Trading, a
company that deals in recycled diamonds and jewelry.
“Our launch
comes at a time when e-commerce is booming, brick-and-mortars are struggling,
and efficient e-commerce solutions are nonexistent within the industry,” Bright
Society said.
The website provides free shipping and returns with a
30-day return policy. Jewelers receive photography kits with a light box, style
guide, photo accessories and an app that enables them to take the photos with
their phones.
Bright Society also provides branded packaging, shipping
labels, customer service and listing copy, and conducts a vetting process on
stock.
“One-of-a-kind
pieces that have been developed by unknown designers, discontinued favorites
from longtime luxury brands like Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Baccarat and
Roberto Coin, rare vintage and estate pieces that have been hiding in the cases
of small mom-and-pop shops around the country, now find their way online,”
Bright Society said. |
