RAPAPORT... Jeweler Cathy Tivol, the CEO of Tivol, and Joy Stehney, the co-owner of Oklahoma Joe's Bar-B-Que, of Kansas City, Missouri, traded jobs for a day to see what happens when the businesses take on new leadership. In addition, the job switch was filmed and edited into a tongue-and-cheek video clip, "The Office Swap," to celebrate the business owners' long time friendship.

Tivol describes herself  as a foodie and said her workday at Oklahoma Joe's was spent in the kitchen, pulling pork and saucing ribs -- and conducting several taste tests. Stehney, who adores jewelry, mainly operated Tivol from behind the scenes at the brand's Country Club Plaza location choosing diamonds and baubles. The video also shows Stehney sitting with the marketing and buying departments for meetings and taking the chance that no one would miss... a sample, or two, of fine jewelry to take home.

While the light hearted video was created to celebrate Stehney and Tivol’s friendship, it also served a very realistic purpose, said Tivol. “We sometimes hear that people are intimidated to walk into Tivol because of our reputation for luxury. This video was such a fun way to help break down that barrier and to remind people that we are not only friendly and approachable, but we have a sense of humor as well,” Tivol said.

Stehney added, “I’ve always admired Tivol and it was such a treat to run the company if even for a few hours. In this video we put ourselves in hilarious and ridiculous situations and I’ve never had more fun than watching Cathy work in the kitchen of Oklahoma Joe’s – and stealing our food along the way.”

Tivol was founded in 1910 and is a family owned to this day. Oklahoma Joe’s was rated at Zagat No. 1 for a barbecue restaurant in Kansas City every year since 2004.
