RAPAPORT... Stellar Diamonds appointed Liviu Meran to the board as a non-executive director, replacing James Campbell, who will step down from his position as non-executive director.

Meran, 36, is a Romanian national and general manager of Foradex Corporation. Foradex's holding company, Foradex Invest SRL, owns a 23 percent stake in Stellar.

“We are delighted to welcome Liviu to the board. Foradex Invest is a significant shareholder of Stellar and Liviu’s presence on the board will further consolidate this support," said Peter Daresbury, the chairman of Stellar Diamonds.

Meran holds a bachelor’s degree in trade economy and a master’s degree in marketing from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest. He previously worked as a senior treasury accountant at CUPROM Corporation from 2005 to 2008 and as the chief financial officer at SC Foradex SA from 2008 to 2010. He became financial manager at Foradex Corporation in 2010 and then was appointed as general manger in January 2014.

Daresbury noted that the board will work closely with Meran and Foradex to pursue its strategy of bringing significant kimberlite diamond resources in Guinea and Sierra Leone into production.
