RAPAPORT... The Seiko Corporation of America  opened  a boutique at 510 Madison Avenue in Manhattan, marking the company's first store in the U.S.  The boutique will house Seiko's most prestigious collections such as  Astron and Grand Seiko, along with a collection exclusive to the U.S. market, Prospex. Seiko will also begin selling the Galante and Credor collections, which have never been sold in the U.S510 madison avenue.

Shinji Hattori, the president and CEO of Seiko Watch Corporation, said,  "The opening of the U.S. market's first boutique in New York City is achieving a passionate goal of mine, as I believe that the U.S. market is the most important for Seiko outside of Japan.

"Seiko has been seeking the most ideal timing and location to spotlight our product, catering to our affordable luxury timepieces, including Grand Seiko and Astron. Opening a boutique in a market such as New York City does just that, following standards from Seiko boutiques in Paris, Amsterdam, Hong Kong and Cairo as well as the original Wako luxury specialty store opened in 1881 in Tokyo," he said.

The company celebrated the opening at a special event that was held at 620 Loft and Garden that included Wimbledon Champion Novak Djokovic among many guests.
