RAPAPORT... New York’s Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) has finalized its move to the city’s International Gem Tower (IGT) and will relocate its offices there next month.

The DDC has closed on the purchase with Extell Development Company, the real-estate investment firm said Friday. The exchange’s new headquarters will be on the 11th floor of the 34-story tower, located on West 47th Street in the heart of Manhattan’s diamond district.

“This new facility and trading floor will be an incredible benefit to our members,” said DDC president Reuven Kaufman, calling the IGT “critical to the future success and stability” of the local diamond industry.

“Our members will enjoy the modernity, prestige and value that IGT has to offer,” he continued. “We are confident that the club’s presence will enhance the experience for IGT owners, visitors and tradesmen.”

Gary Barnett, founder of Extell, said attracting the DDC to the tower “completes our vision for a modern industry center in New York.” Other companies located in the building include De Beers and the Gemological Institute of America.
