Retail stocks had a mixed week, with J.C. Penney (-11%) and Birks Group (-17%) both losing value, while Michael Hill (-7%) fell after announcing plans to exit the US market. Signet Jewelers (+6%) showed a more positive trend, and Chow Tai Fook (+6%) kept Hong Kong stocks solid after reporting strong quarterly results. Rough producers Mountain Province (-3%), Firestone Diamonds (-4%) and Petra Diamonds (-4%) all slipped, though other miners had a stronger week.
