RAPAPORT... Smyth Jewelers  of  Maryland selected Catalpha Advertising & Design to create an integrated ecommerce channel in November that allowed the retailer to easily manage  the website and improve its customer outreach. Smyth's biggest goal was to capture younger consumers through a strong mobile presence. Catalpha Advertising & Design built the new website solution to display the same information in the same format whether it is being viewed on a mobile phone, tablet or computer.

Smyth Jewelers can now choose from various views, select a three or four column format and display  products in a mosaic view without requiring any additional coding. In addition, Smyth Jewelers  now easily updates its  products online and shows a countdown timer for items that are on sale. The website is also custom coded for daily updates that reflect in-store inventory and prices. The shopping cart feature was simplified onto a one-page checkout, which resulted in fewer abandoned shopping carts, according to the firm.

"We plan on doing more ecommerce work in the future because we are continually taking on more retail and manufacturing industry clients," said Don Keller, the owner of Catalpha Advertising & Design. "Ecommerce has become a main service of Catalpha's and we'll continue to grow these types of clients."
