RAPAPORT... New York police arrested a 46-year-old Metropolitan Transportation Authority worker for allegedly killing jeweler Aron Aranbayev in a hit-and-run outside his home on July 19, according to the New York Daily News.

The suspect, Charles Jordan, was tracked down based on a witness description of the Dodge Magnum that ran over the 40-year-old Aranbayev alledgedly because he did not quickly move out of the street after being dropped off near his home in Forest Hills, Queens.

Police found Jordan's damaged Dodge Magnum in an auto repair shop near his home on Wednesday and arrested the suspect the following day.

Aranbayev was co-owner of Rafaello & Co., Diamond District jewelry shop that catered to hip hop clients, including Busta Rhymes and Jay-Z.
