RAPAPORT... Close to 130 exhibitors from around the world will gather in Antwerp next month for the Carat+ diamond trade show.

Companies from at least 10 countries will attend, including from Belgium, the US, Israel, India and Hong Kong. The new event is the only international trade show exclusively about diamonds and diamond jewelry, according to its organizer, Artexis Easyfairs.

Running from May 7 to 9 at Antwerp Expo, the exhibition will feature James Bond star Caterina Murino, known for her role in “Casino Royale.” The actress will model jewelry by designer Roberto Coin during Carat+ Night, which will take place on the first evening of the show.

In addition, jewelry-trend analyst Paola De Luca will run a seminar on May 8 entitled “The Future of Diamonds: How Social Changes and the New Consumers Are Impacting the Diamond Sector.” The seminar will be open to all exhibitors and to registered buyers and visitors.

Carat+ has also teamed up with Porsche Center Antwerp to offer shuttles in Porsche cars from the public parking area to the show entrance.
