RAPAPORT... The Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) is opening up its monthly trading event to foreign buyers to capitalize on dealers’ summer vacations to the country.

The bourse is inviting purchasers from abroad to attend the Blue & White Fair, a marketplace for Israeli diamond suppliers and buyers, on August 2 on the IDE’s trading floor.

The fair will, for the first time, be open to a limited number of foreign buyers who will be granted space in the specially designated buyers’ area, the IDE said. The exhibition, an internal event, was originally held several times a year and later became a monthly affair.

“Many diamond traders come to Israel on vacation at this time, and it makes sense to open the fair up to them as well,” a spokesperson for the IDE said. “The IDE has already heard from several foreign buyers who intend to participate.”
