RAPAPORT... Jewelers of America (JA) announced the winners of its 27th
annual CASE Awards for jewelry design.
The awards recognize retail members of JA that exhibit
creativity, artistry, style and excellence in jewelry design, with the winning
entries set to go on display at the JA New York Show this week at the Jacob
Javits Center.
“The CASE Awards exemplify the talent and fine craftsmanship
found in the stores of JA member jewelers nationwide,” David Bonaparte, chief executive
officer of JA, said in a statement Friday.
An addition to the awards this year was the People’s Choice
accolade, which was decided by a public poll on the trade organization’s
website that attracted more than 4,500 votes, JA said. The winner was Christian
Caine Design of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, which received $500
worth of Facebook advertising, for a 14-karat gold pendant designed by
