RAPAPORT... Anthony Capuano (pictured) has retired from his role as president of The Jewelers Board of Trade (JBT) after 17 years with the group, it said Friday.

Capuano began his career with the JBT as a board director in 2000, and was appointed president in April 2016, replacing Dione Kenyon.

“We would like to thank Tony for his service to The Jewelers Board of Trade, and the jewelry industry,” said JBT chairman Todd Wolleman. “Tony charted a legacy for the organization that will benefit JBT for many years to come. We wish him well in the future.”

Richard Weisenfeld has taken on the role of acting president. He previously held executive positions at Riva Precision Manufacturing, as well as at Pranda North America. He was board chairman for JBT in 2015, and has been a long-term member of the board.

The JBT issues credit information and ratings about its members, and also provides collection and marketing services to the US jewelry trade.
