USPTO Assigns 'Katie Design,' 'Tanmai Jewelers' Trademarks

RAPAPORT... The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) assigned the trademark "Katie Design" to Stanton / Katie Scott, doing business as Katie Design Jewelry Ltd. of Houston, Texas, with the registration number 4500733 on March 25.

Katie Design Jewelry filed for the trademark on May 1, 2013 and first used it in commerce in August of that year. The description uses the colors black and yellow as a feature of the trademark, with a yellow letter "T" in the word Katie representing a cross. The letters "KA" and "IE" and the word "Design" appear in  black.

The trademark applies to diamond jewelry, bracelets and crosses that are crafted in silver or gold.

The USPTO also approved the trademark "Tanmai Jewelers" for Sanjay Singhania of Irving, Texas on March 25 with the registration number 4501070. The trademark was requested on July 19, 2013 and has been in use since January 2010.

The trademark consists of a peacock feather within a shaded oval above the word "Tanmai," with the word "Jewelers" appearing below "Tanmai." The company sells diamonds and jewelry.
