RAPAPORT... Diamcor Mining sold $1.2 million of rough diamonds in the second fiscal quarter ending September 30, at an average price of $141 per carat.

The miner tendered and sold 8,274 carats, a surge of 171 percent from a year ago. The revenue comprised $537,620 from a July tender and $629,318 from a sale in September, according to Diamcor, which sources its rough from a mine in South Africa named Krone-Endora at Venetia.

The average prices at the tenders were consistent with company expectations and “reflect the continued price weaknesses in certain categories of rough diamonds,” the company said.
