RAPAPORT... The Euphora™ diamond is a patented and trademarked shape that blends the simplicity of a square cut with the sparkle of a brilliant cut diamond. It was created by Avnit Diamonds and debuted at the JCK Las Vegas 2006 show.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND CUTTING ISSUES
The Euphora is a square diamond with a step cut crown. It has 24 facets and a brilliant pavilion with 32 facets. The stone is available in D to K colors and VVS to SI2 clarity. Sizes range from 0.25 to 5 carats.
MARKETS AND MARKETING
The diamond is sold through Daniel Shaked Diamonds in San Francisco as a loose stone and is also offered in jewelry settings. A good consistent supply of the stone is available.
The Euphora is targeted at high-end independent retailers. Exclusivity in an area is possible. The company is advertising the Euphora in both consumer and trade publications. Point-of-purchase and display materials are provided. There is a website, www.euphora-diamonds.com. The diamonds come with laser inscriptions and Gemological Institute of America (GIA) certificates.
