Designer Orianne Collins has bowed two new jewelry collections. Urbaine takes inspiration from architecture and integrates arches and ovals into delicate, chic, modern designs formed in gold shimmering with diamonds. The Slave collection is a blend of sensuality and vulnerability showcasing black and white diamonds set in white and pink gold.
Pino Fine Art Jewellery plays a starring role in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” In the second installment of the box-office hit, Caesar Flickerman, played by Stanley Tucci, and Cinna, played by Lenny Kravitz, both wear rings from Claudio Pino. The Chilean-born designer, who currently resides in Quebec, Canada, balances a sculptural aesthetic with wearable comfort.
A pair of diamond-embellished boots was unveiled at Business of Design Week in Hong Kong, which was dedicated to Belgian creativity. The boots were a collaboration between two Antwerp-based diamond firms: Diarough/UNI-Design and A.F. Vandevorst. The companies were chosen for the project by The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) and Flanders Fashion Institute. Design duo An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx created a pair of black leather ankle boots using 1,550 carats of champagne, gray and pink diamonds from Diarough/UNI-Design. A team of craftspeople in the India-based UNI-Design facility set 39,083 diamonds into the boots. It took 30,000 hours to create the boots from design to completion. The boots are valued at $3,188,000.
