Portuguese designer Joana Mieiro, who creates gold and diamond jewelry, is bringing her collection Mimata to the New York JA show in July for the first time. Mimata, which translates from Portuguese to English as “little indulgence,” is a word used to describe a piece of chocolate or bite-sized treat. Mieiro is influenced by ancient Roman culture and architecture. Inspired by ancient Celtic art, Charriol is a blend of classicism and modernity. Creative director Coralie Charriol draws upon the Charriol family passion for beauty, arts and sports to inform her designs. Based on its signature stainless steel cable, the design house has created new pieces with colored gemstone or diamond accents. The Mouni collection is made with colored cables and accented with rose gold for a younger — or young at heart — consumer. There is also a collection of bangles, rings and pendants with a motif of hearts with diamond accents.
