APAPORT... Drawing upon the ancient art of Vedic astrology, Dualitas Jewelry focuses on the metaphysical properties of gemstones. Handcrafted in Jaipur, India, each piece of jewelry is set so that the gemstones touch the skin of the person wearing it, allowing the energy of the stone to bestow its benefits on the wearer. The gems in the collection are natural and unenhanced and include diamond slices, rubies, sapphires, amethyst and rose quartz. A portion of the proceeds from the Holiday 2015 SuperHero collection will be donated to SheHeroes.org, a nonprofit focused on empowering girls from all backgrounds to dream big and pursue careers not usually associated with women.

The Museum of Fine Arts Boston has acquired the Queen of the Nile necklace by Abellán New York for its permanent collection. The bib-style necklace was inspired by ancient Egyptian broad collars. Emeralds and diamonds embellish antique-style terminals, which hold a bib of pink tourmalines. The chain of the necklace is made of graduated amethysts, with a single black South Sea pearl at the closure. The ancient form and modern color palette showcase the global and historic function of jewelry. Given to the museum by a private donor, the necklace complements the Museum’s collection of Art Jewelry and leverages its mission of connecting people with creativity and cultural awareness.

As part of its twenty-fifth anniversary celebration, London-based men’s jewelry designer Tateossian and the Elton John AIDS Foundation launched Pill XXV, a pill-themed collection that includes cufflinks, a necklace, bracelet and pin. The designer created the capsule collection exclusively for the Elton John AIDS Foundation because a pill means a better life for millions of people living with HIV. Thirty percent of the retail price will be donated to the Foundation in support of its vision of creating an AIDS-free future. There are two versions of the collection: The Luxe Pill showcases black and white diamonds set in silver with an 18-karat gold band and The Pop Pill, which is red and white enamel on stainless steel.
