The Sky Room at the New Museum in the Bowery, overlooking downtown Manhattan on a steamy New York summer night, was the setting for a cocktail party launch of the Thomas Sabo 2016 Autumn/Winter collection.
The soiree was hosted by model Georgia May Jagger — yes her father is Mick and her mother is Jerry Hall — who is one of the faces of the company. The delightful Georgia May was adorned in petite pieces from the new offerings. When asked if she designs anything for the line, she answered sweetly, “I’m just a model. I do have a big project coming up, but it’s a secret.”It’s the kind of comment that does make one wonder.
Throughout the evening the video “Love Bridges,” which can be found on YouTube, played. It features Georgia May, wearing Thomas Sabo jewelry as she frolicked with Brazilian model Marlon Teixieira, who is also wearing Thomas Sabo jewelry. The video tells the story of a couple. The two were having such a good time it made you want to join right in. The video showed that wearing jewelry is effortless, easy and cool for everyday life.
Glam & Soul Diamonds were introduced at the event, the first time ever that German designer Thomas Sabo has used the gems in his line. Diamonds were added to eternity rings, together-forever rings and solitaires, making them precious symbols of love.
Many of the pieces are created in silver with diamonds for an affordable price point. Sabo also created the Triangle Diamonds collection, which unites urban coolness with unique charisma. The Love Coins pendants were amped up with diamonds and can also be engraved, making them even more personal and symbolic of each person’s unique story.
Susanne Kölbli, creative director for Thomas Sabo, says, “Items of jewelry represent the most intimate, human feelings.
