RAPAPORT... The New York Diamond Dealers Club re-elected Jacob Banda as president, David Abraham as vice president, Sylvain Ringer as secretary, and Elliot Krischer as treasurer.
Banda was re-elected with an 85 percent majority vote and he said he appreciated the overwhelming vote of confidence. "The contemporary diamond industry is facing critical challenges both in America and throughout the world," Banda said. "I look forward to working with our officers and board to improve business opportunities for all diamantaires while at the same time ensuring that we continue to provide the highest degree of consumer confidence in our industry," he said. Members elected to the board included: Eli Gottlieb, Yaron Hahami, Noach Klein, Aaron Landau, Tzvi Nof, Nissan Perla, David Samuels and Moshe Zwiebel. These members join sitting board members: Gary Dimenstein, Abraham Einhorn, Meilech Fastag, Basant Johari, Joseph Khafi, Philip Klein, Ray Perlman and Jacob Weinstock. The new board represents "an unusual cross-section of people with the skills necessary to enable the Diamond Dealers Club and its members to thrive well into the future," Banda said.
