“SRK’s human capital is its principal asset and we are delighted to be recognized and win this award. The organization’s innovative HR practices in today’s dynamic environment help it attract and retain the best available talent. We are commited to creating a culture of performance and growth among its employees,” Govind Dholakia, chairman of SRK Export, said. "We work not like corporate firms, but like a family; each and every employee of our firm has direct access to its chairman,” he added.

SAIL, the leading manufacturer of steel, has included a profile of SRK Export in its book, HR Best Practices – Manufacturing Sector in India, with SRK being the only firm from the diamond & jewelry industry to make it onto the list. Founded in 1976, the company has a 5,000-member workforce spread across major parts of the world.

SRK Export, whose corporate office is located in Bombay, the hub of India, is engaged in the business of manufacturing, importing and exporting exclusive round diamonds. It dominates in the production of 0.03- to 3.00-carat diamonds, mainly in white and ranging from D to J colors of IF to PK clarity with various shapes, like pear, oval, heart, cushion, emerald, Escher or radiant. Each piece passes through stringent testing by high-tech machines and diamond experts and SRK provides certificates from renowned laboratories, such as GIA and IGI.

Activities:

Godhani Kanya Vidyalaya, the $755,000 (INR 35 million), four-storied building at Green Lines, Katargam, Surat (India) in 1991. The institute is the fulfillment of the late Shri Virjibhai’s (an ex-partner) dream of educating girls and providing them with a sense of independence. Financially deprived girls are educated free of charge.

All facilities are provided to them from nursery school through their graduation in the arts, commerce or science. Thanks to the advanced computerized system, the school stands among Surat’s top ten schools and is considered a model school that others can emulate. Millions of rupees are efficiently channelled for the overall development of more than 2,500 girls studying in this philanthropic institute, where they are served by nearly 130 dedicated and qualified teachers.
