RAPAPORT... The American Gem Society (AGS) plans to hold its 2010 Conclave, an annual gathering of its membership, from April 21 to 24, 2010 at the Westin Copley Place in Boston. The theme for the 2010 event is Revolution and the keynote and educational programs will reflect this theme by presenting bold new ways of doing business, according to the group.
“We’re in a period of great economic change, and that change demands revolutionary new ways of doing business,” said Ruth Batson, executive director and chief executive officer (CEO) of AGS. “There are more tools at our disposal and more outlets for communicating and building a brand. The old rules are giving way to new ones. Conclave is seizing the opportunity to make sure that our members are a vital part of this revolution.”
The 2010 Conclave will feature a two-day supplier gallery to provide the industry’s best manufacturers the opportunity to connect with the best retailers, Batson said. The gallery will include a fashion show featuring models displaying top designs from suppliers.
“Conclave is an opportunity to gather the society’s community of members together for a few days and provide not only educational programs, but also the inspiration to conduct their businesses with renewed energy,” said Batson.
