RAPAPORT... The "A Diamond Is Forever" campaign will officially launch its Christmas holiday commercial for television on November 16, 2009 in the United States. The advertisement features pieces from the Everlon Diamond Knot Collection, which is already being carried by many retailers. Watch the commercial in this week's broadcast and take a look at how the Everlon Diamond Knot Collection is being featured on leading jewelry retail websites. The television spot focuses upon the beauty and strength of love.
“This commercial creates an incredibly powerful story of the strength of love that will make the Everlon collection resonate with viewers by drawing them into a visually stunning and emotionally poignant moment,” said Sally Morrison, J. Walter Thompson's (JWT) interim director for the A Diamond Is Forever account.
The commercial is set in a beautiful winter forest and is intended to relay the concept of unwavering love through its depiction of a couple ice-skating together on a frozen pond, accompanied by a romantic reworking of Sonny and Cher's “I’ve Got You Babe” by the German duo Night Bird. According to the commercial's backstory, the couple has been to this pond before and unfortunately, in all their years together, the man has not mastered the art of ice-skating and is only there because she loves it and he loves her. At this moment though, like many before, he finds himself cold and embarrassed as he stumbles and falls on the ice. This embarrassment doesn't stop him from admiring the beauty of his wife as she glides gracefully across the ice. He moves to the edge of the pond and uses a tree to hold himself up. Releasing his hand to take something from his pocket, he loses balance, but is caught by his wife as he falls. At that moment, he reveals the Everlon Diamond Knot Collection ring he has bought for her. Now, it’s his turn to catch her.
Remember that the website for A Diamond Is Forever offers many updates to support retailers' marketing needs, including 360-degree renderings of eight of the signature Everlon Diamond Knot Collection pieces.
