Press Release: Forevermark was launched in India in  2011. Only 46 authorized jewelers across six cities got a chance to retail the Forevermark brand but sales have been immensely successful with an overwhelming response from consumers. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Forevermark welcomed select retail jewelers to South Africa where they had a chance to visit the diamond mine and the De Beers headquarters.

The objective of the visit was to celebrate Forevermark’s association with jewelers and to give them an insight into the origin of the diamond and its journey of becoming a Forevermark.

The journey to South Africa, the home of the mines where the diamonds are first unearthed, began in style. Flying from India, select partners such as  Abaran, Hazoorilal Jewellers, Joyalukkas and Khanna Jewellers experienced how a diamond is located and extracted and sent for processing.

The itinerary also included the launch of Forevermark in South Africa. It was a cocktail evening where Indian jewelers interacted with renowned Forevermark official  Stephen Lussier, the chief executive of Forevermark, and people from the trade in South Africa. The following  day, the team visited the coveted De Beers house where they got to know the details of what makes a diamond a Forevermark diamond, the inscription and authorization process. Having immersed themselves into the world of diamonds, the group  experienced Africa and  enjoyed museums, wildlife and the natural habitat of one the world’s most beautiful continents.

“To further build our relationships with our esteemed Forevermark jewelers in India, we recently invited them on the trip to South Africa. The trip was created to deepen understanding of the lengthy De Beers heritage and expertise that has gone into developing the Forevermark brand, and of course to express our thanks for the support so far,” Lussier commented.

“I was fortunate to be in South Africa at the time and was therefore able to see our partners and hear for myself how much of an enjoyable and fruitful experience the trip was. It struck me that by visiting the brand’s ‘homeland’ and one of the mines from which Forevermark diamonds are sourced, all attending jewelers were filled with the same passion for the brand that we all feel. I am sure that the trip will now become a regular feature on the Forevermark calendar and go on to inspire yet more of our partners in India,” he said.

The managing director of Forevermark India, Sachin Jain, who accompanied the jewelers on this trip, said, “When we launched Forevermark in India, we had one objective - that is to work in true partnership with the trade here in India. With a year behind us, we can truly say that we have on board India’s finest jewelers who are committed to bringing to consumers in India, the very best in diamonds and diamond jewelry. So taking this time off, playing host to them at our mines and the place where our story begins, is something that is both emotional and at the same time a matter of pride for us and we are truly delighted that we had the opportunity to do so.”

The team came back to India with unmatched experience and knowledge of the diamond world. The trip to South Africa has reaffirmed their belief in bringing to consumers world’s best diamonds.
