RAPAPORT... Online retailer Blue Nile appointed Engle Saez as the company's chief marketing officer. Saez has provided branding, marketing, and product leadership for more than 20 years to consumer brands such as Esprit de Corp, Eddie Bauer, Timberland, Sperry Top-Sider and Starbucks. Most recently, he served as head of product and marketing at Coinstar, where he was instrumental in the repositioning and growth of the COIN line of business.

"Engle is a proven brand builder and marketing strategist with an impressive record of building enduring brands in the multi-channel, direct-to-consumer space," said Blue Nile's chief executive, Harvey Kanter. "His experience and skill will be key in helping Blue Nile continue to evolve and grow. I expect him to have a meaningful impact on how consumers engage with Blue Nile, and I look forward to experiencing those changes first hand."

Saez said, "Blue Nile has a powerful and distinctive business model that has revolutionized how consumers shop for and buy premium quality diamonds and jewelry. In a relatively short period of time, Blue Nile established itself as a highly regarded and preferred brand with category dominance online. I believe the opportunity for growth is phenomenal, and I am delighted to join such a passionate and enthusiastic team."
