RAPAPORT... Gemological Science International (GSI) has set up a grading lab inside Mumbai’s Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), the largest diamond bourse in the world. The new GSI lab is located at EW1190 in the BDB with easy access from Gate No. 1 for walk-in clients and from Gate No. 7 for those arriving in vehicles. The office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and this new location is in addition to GSI’s main Indian office in Andheri.

The BDB is a 20-acre complex with approximately 2,400 offices. GSI's vice president of operations in India, Neeta Shah, described the BDB complex as ''nothing short of a fortress.

''It has changed the way the diamond industry functions,'' Shah said. ''Our new lab will make diamond-grading and other lab services more convenient for people both inside and outside BDB and reflects our tradition of providing quality, highly automated services to clients at a secure location most suitable to them.''
