RAPAPORT... Jewelry Television® (JTV) is preparing a 45th anniversary celebration of the discovery of tanzanite from July 5 through July 8. JTV will showcase these stones from both the Signature™ Vault and Heirloom™ Vault collections as well as a variety of exclusive jewelry pieces. “Since it was first discovered 45 years ago in Tanzania, tanzanite has become one of the most desirable gemstones, for collectors and jewelry lovers alike,” said Tom Ahles, the director of gemstone merchandise planning at JTV. “Because of its rarity, both geographically and gemologically, and its extraordinary beauty, Tanzanite has gained popularity, but deposits won’t last forever. This is why JTV is so pleased to bring our customers such a diverse offering of options so they can take advantage of the opportunity to add such a precious gemstone to their collections.” JTV will present several exclusive tanzanite collections, including Kianga, which was named after the Swahili word meaning burst of light, Kutamani, the Swahili word for aspire, and Merelani Tribute, gemstones cut to exhibit inner star patterns. Additionally, the broadcast channel will feature pieces from the Katzenberg Signature Collection, hand fashioned by master lapidary Shlomo Katzenberg.
