Shree Ganesh's 1Q Sales +17%

RAPAPORT... Shree Ganesh Jewellery House Limited (SGJHL) reported that group sales rose 17 percent year on year to $541.3 million (INR 29.96 billion) during its first fiscal quarter that ended on June 30, 2012. Profits increased 14 percent to $16.8 million (INR 928.2 million).

Group expenditures rose 18 percent year on year to $523.6 million (INR 28.97 billion) during the quarter.

Kolkata-based SGJHL makes gold jewelry, diamond jewelry, gemstone-studded jewelry and lightweight Italian jewelry and operates the GAJA retail outlets. The company derives the majority of its sales from overseas markets such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE,) Singapore and Hong Kong.
