Jaipur Jewellery Show Begins December 22

RAPAPORT... The tenth edition of the Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) in India will kick off on December 22 at Hotel Raj Mahal Palace in Jaipur, the hub of colored gemstones.
“The show aims at keeping jewelers the world over informed about new designs, manufacturing, ecommerce, taxation and developments in many more such spheres of the gems and jewelry trade,” according to Rajiv Jain, the secretary of the JJS organizing committee. “Keeping this in mind, knowledge-sharing seminars have been made an integral part of JJS.”
JJS, also known as the ''December Show,'' is considered the second-largest jewelry show in India, according to the organizers. More than 290 exhibitors are participating in the event, which runs until December 25.
The organizers promote one gemstone every year in this show, so this year they chose "Diamond Jewellery...Jaipur adds color to it" for the theme. Sean Gilbertson, the executive director of Gemfields Plc, will be the chief guest of JJS 2012 and inaugurate the show on Saturday.
Vimal Chand Surana, the convener of JJS, stated that the show aims to bring together jewelers and customers from across the globe to a single platform for trade and interaction. More than 30,000 visitors are expected to participate in this business-to-business as well as business-to-consumer jewelry fair from India and overseas.
