RAPAPORT... India's Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) appointed Haresh Chamanbhai Soni as its chairman for the 2013 to 2015 period.
Soni, whose appointment was made official at a ceremony in Mumbai, will replace Bachhraj Bamalw and will work alongside GJF's newly appointed vice chairman, Manish Jain.
During his chairmanship, Soni aims to strengthen and consolidate GJF's presence throughout India. He also plans to undertake various educational and training programs to benefit the jewelry industry by creating an environment conducive to business growth, according to the group.
GJF's existing programs such as the National Jewellery Award, Preferred Manufacturer of India (PMI), GJF Night, leadership summits and education and training will continue during Soni's term, with a goal to introduce the Trust Mark Program.
