Press Release: Los Angeles-based fine jewelry manufacturer and diamond dealer Harry Kotlar & Company announces that it has selected the American Gem Society (AGS) Laboratory to be the exclusive grading report source for its proprietary cushion-cut diamonds.

The Kotlar Cushion®,  which combines the classic silhouette of a cushion cut with the fire and sparkle of a brilliant cut diamond,  has 61 facets and is sold as “The World’s Most Brilliant Cushion Cut Diamond.”

The AGS Diamond Quality® Report provides a complete grading analysis of the Kotlar Cushion diamond that includes the profile with measurements and a custom facet plot. The facet plotting is specific to the stone as compared with the generic graphic plots displayed on reports from other labs, which are generic representations. The report also includes a QR code for instant online retrieval directly from AGS Laboratories.

David Wiener, the president of Harry Kotlar & Company, and designer of the faceting arrangement for the Kotlar Cushion, explained, “The actual facet plot is important because the Kotlar Cushion’s facet pattern is unique and it helps both the jeweler and the consumer visualize the cut. A report that uses a generic cushion graphic cannot convey as much information or clarity as the AGSL reports. And with direct access to the AGSL document online there is complete transparency in the reporting. I also appreciate the high standards of the American Gem Society and the AGS retailers, many whom are Harry Kotlar retail partners.”

In addition to the Kotlar Cushion diamond, Harry Kotlar & Company also offers other diamond cuts of exceptional quality, and hand-crafted jewels set in platinum, many of which feature artisan pavé – a design hand-carved into the metal that secures melée in a sculpted setting.
