Press Release: The Precious Stones Multi-stakeholder Working group (MSWG) that met in Paris on April 30 has held a follow-up teleconference on May 9 to discuss the next steps.

The MSWG agreed that its efforts to attract the broadest possible participation should continue and that all interested stakeholders would be invited to join at any time. To that end, it was agreed that further outreach was necessary and would continue to be undertaken.

The MSWG reaffirmed the proposal to commission a report to examine existing and potential due diligence processes including the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) and others, and recommend how such approaches could be applied to the precious stones supply chain.

Regular media bulletins will be made available as the work of the MSWG progresses.
