Chow Sang Sang Appoints New Chairman

RAPAPORT... Chow Sang Sang, a Hong Kong-based jewelry wholesaler  and retailer company, has appointed Vincent Chow Wing Shing as chairman of its board. The appointment will take effect on July 1, 2013. 

Vincent Chow, who has been with the company for over 30 years and is currently the group general manager and an executive director, will replace Chow Kwen Lim, one of the founders of the company who will remain on the board as an executive director.

Chow Sang Sang's executive directors include Chow Kwen Lim, Vincent Chow Wing Shing, Gerald Chow King Sing and Winston Chow Wun Sing. The company's non-executive directors are Chow Kwen Ling, Stephen Ting Leung Huel and Ching Pui Lam. Independent non-executive directors are Chan Bing Fun, Lee Ka Lun, Lo King Man and Stephen Lau Man Lung.

Chow Sang Sang had group revenue increase 6 percent year on year to $2.4 billion (HKD 18.3 billion) in 2012, with revenue from its jewelry division up 18 percent to $1.9 billion (HKD 14.86 billion).  Group profit attributed to equity holders fell 10 percent to $127 million (HKD 985 million) during the year.
