Christie's New York sale of magnificent jewels achieved $46,675,125, which was above the presale estimate of $40 million, and was 75 percent sold by lot, with the top seven lots selling for more than $1 million each. The sale offered three loose stones from gem collectors (pictured in order) with the top lot being an 8.77-carat, VVS1, rectangular‐cut fancy intense pink diamond ring that sold within estimate to Moussaieff Jewellers for $6,325,000. A 3.81-carat, VS1, fancy vivid blue, rectangular-cut diamond ring sold above its high presale estimate of $3.5 million and achieved $3,973,000. The third loose stone, a 5.13-carat, square-cut fancy vivid yellow diamond, sold within estimate at $269,000.
Other top lots included a rectangular-cut, 25.30-carat D, VVS1 diamond, flanked on either side by a tapered baguette-cut diamond and mounted in platinum, which sold for $3,133,000.
An 18.28-carat, D, VVS2, cushion-cut diamond ring fetched $2,045,000 and a 15.88-carat cushion-cut Kashmir sapphire and diamond ring sold for $1,805,000.
A 10.74-carat, D, internally flawless, cut-cornered rectangular-cut diamond ring achieved $1,385,000, while an approximately 17.00-carat, F, VS1, cut-cornered rectangular-cut diamond ring sold for $1,265,000.

Eva Perón’s Argentine flag brooch was offered for the second time at Christie’s, after 15 years and was acquired by an Argentinean collector for $461,000.
