RAPAPORT... Canada-based Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. successfully obtained the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Services (OHSAS) recertifications for its health, safety, environment, and quality systems. Det Norske Veritas Certification Inc. (DNV), a Norwegian classification society, conducted external audits before awarding certification at the mine's site outside of Yellowknife.

Marc Cameron, the president of Diavik Diamond Mines, stated, “Health and safety are our most important priorities, and the ISO auditing recertification process is just one way in which we demonstrate our focus and ongoing commitment to health and safety, to meeting our environmental commitments, and to ensuring exceptional product quality.”

The recertification process entailed a comprehensive evaluation of Diavik’s strategic business systems, procedures and a compliance assessment. ISO recertification is conducted every three years after two annual surveillance audits.
