Press Release: The AISociety, Appraisers International Society (AIS), has launched AISociety.com, unveiling the Accredited International Valuer Registry (AiV-Registry)™ and related program registration information for the January 13 start of AiCertification™ 2014's 11-month live, online global offering -- the fourth since 2011.

According to AiGovernance's chair, Bill Korst, an AiSCV and AVS-GJS from Minneapolis, Minnesota and a gem dealer and appraiser, “AISociety.com is the global linchpin of the most advanced, accessible and affordable program ever offered for international, gems and jewelry and other multi-specialty, personal property (movable and immovable / affixed) valuation and appraisal education, testing, certification and referrals.”

The new global website  www.aisociety.com provides access to information on primary AISociety programs and activities after four years and more than 3,000 hours of development by AISociety founder and president, Elly Rosen, an AiSCV AVS-GJS, FGA, GG, working with the global AiGovernance advisory group of seasoned multi-specialty professionals, representing six countries on three continents.

Korst said, “Over the past three decades, since leading the very first professional personal property appraisal program from 1982 to 1993, Elly has been the primary developer of professional, multi-specialty personal property education programs based on a standardized body of knowledge encompassing appraisal principles, ethics, applied procedures, methodology and reporting techniques. The AISociety entered the fourth decade of appraisal professionalism with Elly as primary developer and instructor of a new generation of global programming applicable to all types of valuations and appraisals in all free market economies.”

He added that “AIS educational programs are especially dedicated to those who wish to take appraising / valuation to a whole new level.”

As illustrated and explained on AISociety.com, the full 250-hour AiCertification™ program starts with the AiCore™ program on international valuation and appraisal fundamentals, leading to the “AiSV™” appellation. AiCore is followed by five additional, advanced courses for eligibility of “AiSCV™” diploma titles such  as “Advanced Valuation Specialist (AVS)” and/or AiSpecialty areas e.g. “Gems & Jewelry Specialist (GJS)™,” “Residential Contents Specialist (RCS)™,” etc. AiCertification is offered via the 11-month “AiResidence™” live, online program, or via “AiSelfStudy™” utilizing “AiCloud™” audio-video AiRecordings™ and course materials, in collaboration with AiMentors™.

According to the AiGovernance executive committee chair, Dennis Blacklaws, an AiSCV AVS-GJS, “Fundamental to the AIStandard of AiCertification is understanding and applying the distinction between valuation and evaluation.” Blacklaws represents the New Zealand AiCore constituency, which played a major role in the 2011 to 2013 AiCertification development. “My roots with appraisal organizations go back to 1981 with education, testing and certification that were mainly based on `evaluation` i.e., gemology. It was through AIS’ comprehensive program that my eyes were opened to the vast field of `valuation` principles and methodologies.”

AiGovernance's Europe division liaison, Paula Elena Necula, an AiSV, AiS-accredited international valuer and gems and jewelry specialist candidate, explained AIS responsiveness to European concerns. “The AiCode of ethical conduct and AIStandards of Practice™, comprehensive educational programming, active international participation, support and interaction of peers, professionals and representatives of the client community have been brought together by the AISociety to finally create the finest professional bridge between the-old-continent and other regions of the world.”

AiCertification alumni and current enrollees, representing six countries, are routinely required to complete program assignments, which necessitate being familiar with laws and regulations for their jurisdictions and applying them to AiCore™ principles for basic to advanced valuation and appraisal intended uses.

AiGovernance's Australia division liaison, Dianne Walker, an AiSV,  AiCertification board eligible, AiSCV advanced valuation specialist and gems and jewelry specialist from Melbourne echoed European concerns.  “The AiSV course has given me the confidence to ethically offer valuation services for personal property in my city and country. The extensive and informative content of this course exceeded my expectations and many of my unanswered questions in the field of Valuation. I am proud to be a part of such a diverse group of professionals.''

The AiSociety is multi-disciplinary for all international, movable and affixed personal property assignments. AiCertification’s residential contents program developer, Randeen Cummings, an AiSV-AVS, from Eugene, Oregon and an appraiser with over 30 years experience with antiques, collectibles, art, estate jewelry and residential contents is an alumnus of  Rosen’s first program.  “In my personal  experience with Elly's courses from the early days, the depth of professional appraising instruction in the AIS courses is the best available and the principles are applicable for all personal property,” Cummings said.

Long-standing AIS consumer consultant, Nancy Mleczko, an AiSVA and registered nurse who is seeking a new career path, completed the AiCore™ program in July of 2013, receiving the AiSVA - AiSValuation associate membership level as a residential contents extern candidate,  which requires special valuation and appraisal work to be performed with an AiSupervising Appraiser. After receiving her AiSVA, Mleczko said, “I found AiCertification structured to my needs as a novice, even while taking it, live, online, side-by-side with multi-specialty, 30-year professionals, on three continents.”
