Press Release: In a male-dominated diamond industry where cutting and polishing has been a staple of the male artisan for many years now, things are set to change for the better.

For the first time, two women, including one with a disability, are  pursuing training in diamond cutting and polishing at Hari Krishna Export Pvt. Ltd.,  and they have processed two triple-excellent cut diamonds in a record time of eight days. diamond cutting

Kajal Sorathia (who walks with the use of crutches) and Jalpa Narola (formerly a telephone operator) have become the first women diamond artisans to have polished excellent cut diamonds, weighing 1.06 carat and 1.02 carat, with record speed.

Ghanshyam Dholakia, the managing director of Hari Krishna Export, said, "We have taken up a mission of training women for the art of cutting and polishing diamonds. With years of experience and knowledge, an expert artisan would take five days to precisely cut and polish a triple-excellent cut diamond. Both Kajal and Jalpa have become the first female diamond artisans in the world to have achieved this feat in just eight working days with a training period of eight months behind them. This only proves the point that if you are determined and work positively toward your target, you will certainly achieve it."

If the symmetry of all the 57 facets of a diamond is perfect and cut and polish are excellent then the diamond is said to be a triple excellent cut diamond.
