GIA Presents DiamondCheck Machine to IDCA

Press Release: The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) presented the Indian Diamond & Colorstone Association (IDCA) with the GIA DiamondCheck™ on Wednesday March 12.  This machine is to examine colorless stones in the D to N range. It identifies natural, untreated diamonds and refers for further analysis stones that may be treated or synthetic.

This machine is now available to all IDCA members for analysis of stones at no cost to them.

Speaking on behalf of the executive committee and members, Mehul Shah, IDCA's president thanked the GIA leadership in providing this free service to the IDCA members and the industry. This is a first in a series of steps that IDCA, GIA and the industry as a whole has taken to address the issue of synthetics.
