Press Release: Kiran Gems, the world’s largest manufacturer of diamonds, had the first De Beers International Institute of Diamond Grading and Research's (IIDGR) diamond Automated Melee Screening (AMS) machine commissioned at its headquarters in the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), Mumbai. AMS is currently the most advanced machine with the latest technology in CVD screening.

Dinesh Lakhani, the director of global sales, said, “It is one more step toward bolstering customer confidence. This would now allow us to have even stronger control of the distribution flow of goods and keep the integrity of diamonds. Kiran Gems is the forerunner in technology adoption and will remain so as it goes a long way in adding value to our relationships with customers.”

The machine allows screening  of 500 carats of colorless and near-colorless diamonds ranging from 1 pointer to 20 pointers in various pre-selected size categories per screening event. The machine is hassle free to use and due to its automated technology, it does not require anyone to sit through the whole screening process. AMS would allow Kiran Gems to handle CVD screening of goods in volume that are returned to the premises after being out for business, which is a normal and daily practice.

Prior to using AMS, Kiran Gems used IIDGRS’s Diamond Sure machine for the same purpose. Kiran Gems was also the first company to have a Diamond Sure machine. At present, Kiran Gems has three Diamond Sure machines which are all installed in its headquarters in Mumbai.
