GIA Hosts Career Fair in New York on July 28

RAPAPORT...  The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) will hold its New York career fair on July 28 at the Javits Center during the summer JA New York jewelry show. The career fair is the jewelry industry's largest recruiting event with nearly 50 companies, including David Yurman, New York Loan Company and Signet's subsidiary Sterling Jewelers  will be looking to fill positions at all career levels.

"This is a once-a-year opportunity in New York and I encourage everyone with a passion for jewelry to stop by and see what it’s about," said Kathryn Kimmel, GIA's vice president and chief marketing officer. The fair will begin at 8 a.m.  with registration and  a panel discussion. Recruiters will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

While meeting with recruiters and one-on-one career coaches, attendees also have the opportunity to hear from prominent industry figures such as Mercedes Abramo, the president and CEO of Cartier North America and Andrea Hansen, the partner of Luxe Intelligence and president of the Women's Jewelry Association during the opening panel discussion "Job Success in Today's Market."
