RAPAPORT... Nearly 50 years after Fortunoff first opened its doors at its Westbury, New York flagship store, the brand returns to Long Island with Fortunoff Fine Jewelry at 1504 Old Country Road in Westbury. Fortunoff Fine Jewelry features curated collections of women’s, children’s and men’s jewelry and houses more than 15 showcases of jewelry collections, many of which are exclusive. Merchandise will generally  range from $50 to $50,000.

“My goal for the new store is to exceed my customers’ expectations for selection, quality, design and service,” said Esther Fortunoff, the president of Fortunoff Fine Jewelry. “I want to continue to earn our customer’s confidence, just as my family has for generations.”

Fortunoff, the granddaughter of Max and Clara Fortunoff, founders of the Fortunoff regional chain of department stores, reintroduced the Fortunoff Fine Jewelry brand more than a year ago online. An award-winning jewelry authority and leader in the fine jewelry industry, Esther began her career at Fortunoff as a teenage, and over a 30-year period became the retailer's executive vice president of the fine jewelry division.

Customers of the new fine jewelry boutique will find pieces from new, local designers, elegant styles from overseas and a selection of men’s and women’s vintage jewelry.

“My mother, Helene Fortunoff, believed that customers should have an interesting selection to choose from, including unique pieces not found in other American jewelry stores,” said Esther.  “With this, the Fortunoff Fine Jewelry buying team became known for always being ahead of the curve, finding styles and looks from new designers that were different and innovative.

“There isn’t anything I enjoy more than working closely with my customers in an intimate, personalized environment,” concluded Esther.  “Fortunoff Fine Jewelry will provide a warm and welcoming shopping experience where customers will be helped by very knowledgeable and friendly salespeople, many of whom are fine jewelry experts in their own right.”

According to the company's Facebook page, Fortunoff Fine Jewelry is adding finishing touches to the store before planning a grand opening weekend from September 18 to 21.
